Luigi's Mansion. Didn't finish it when it first came out, and I've heard good things about the sequel.

Some people mentioned their backlog. I don't keep a list because the number of games that I'm interested in an haven't played/finished is very large :P

Hi folks... I just stumbeled upon a game today, that Id like to share with you.
I was reading thru Google News today and stumbled upon a News Article, that said something like this:

(since Im native German, you will get a english version of this article)

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-04-29-game-dev-tycoon-forces-those-who-pirate-the-game-to-unwittingly-fail-from-piracy

That made me curious, so I visited their page. I tried the Demo for a few minutes, but then decided to pay the ca. 8 Euros for this game. I have been playing all day now and I can tell you: This is awesome. Its really addictive. Yes, its a bit short right now, but at least you support a Indie Game Dev (as long as Conifer isnt finished yet :P )

Bizarrely, I have gone back to playing CivIV Colonization with The Authentic Colonization mod, and having a hard but fun time with it. The mod improves it considerably. Whoever the designer of that was, not sure they knew what they were doing!

I am curious about that mod, I installed it but had no intention at the time to relearn the game again. Still there is something about Colonization that I prefer over Civ, it is probably the sticking to one Era bit. Looking forward to AtG taking elements from it.

Sounds like a very interesting mod. I'd really enjoyed colonization, but the Civ4 version fell a little short of the mark. Downloading now.

In the meantime I'm currently playing Starcraft 2, Dominions 3, Firefall, Neverwinter, Falen Enchantress: legendary heroes, Monaco, Eclipse (iPad) & Candy Crush Saga.

I hope I am not taking this thread too far "off topic", but it is in the "off topic" forum...

There is definitely something quite special about Colonization. The use of specialists is not unique to the game (see Imperialism I and II for example), but is a really neat mechanism. It makes you think about the use of every little guy. The terrain seems to make a lot of sense, and provide a lot of interesting challenges. The religion and liberty mechanics are really interesting. The great person (Founding Fathers) tree is endlessly interesting and difficult to analyse.

If you didn't know, Jon produced the prototype of CivIV:Col on which it was based. Not sure what involvement he had after that.

It seems to me that the war of independence (which I have yet to reach in my most recent game) is the least effective part of the game.

Many of the mechanics of colonisation could (and I am sure will) be re-used in different scenarios and milieu.

My involvement with Civ 4: Colonization was only in the early stages, as once Civ 5 got underway I moved over to that full-time. I developed the prototype as a complex Python mod, but after the project was greenlit the team basically started over using BtS as the base, and worked towards slightly different design goals.
